Antonin Dvorak (1841–1904) is a well-known Czech composer. Together with Bedrich Smetana, he is the founder of the national composer’s school, the features and spirit of which can be traced in each of his works. The current edition includes piano pieces in such an entertaining genre as humoresques – 8 humoresques from Opus 101, written in 1894 during the composer's stay in the USA; as well as the Fis-dur humoresque under the number B. 138, created ten years earlier. Among them is one of the most popular compositions not only within this genre, but also in the composer’s entire heritage – humoresque No. 7, widely performed and recorded nowadays.
